A choice of outrages


I glanced at The New York Times this morning, and couldn’t decide which of two stories constituted the greater outrage–that Syria’s apparent use of chemical weapons has become a mindless sufficient condition for our further military involvement in Near East politics, or that the city of Columbia, South Carolina is currently engaged in an approximation of “classist cleansing” of the homeless within its city limits. But why choose? This is America. We can have it all.
